From Hospital to Prevention

Ashley’s journey into functional medicine was shaped by her frontline experience in some of Houston’s most prestigious hospitals. Working at Memorial Hermann Hospital and Houston Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, she witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of chronic diseases—and became passionate about preventing them before they develop.

Strong Academic Foundation

Ashley began her healthcare journey at Texas A&M University, where she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Kinesiology Exercise Physiology and Nursing. This unique combination gave her deep understanding of both how the body moves and functions, and how to provide comprehensive nursing care.

She then pursued advanced training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, earning her Master of Science in Nursing in 2016 with specialization in Adult/Acute Nurse Practice.

Specialized Expertise

Ashley has developed particular expertise in liver and metabolic health—critical areas that affect everything from energy levels to hormone balance to weight management. Her knowledge extends to:

  • Hormone optimization and balance
  • Vitamin and nutrient deficiency correction
  • Comprehensive gut health restoration
  • Thyroid function optimization

Collaborative Care Philosophy

Ashley’s hospital experience taught her the importance of building strong, collaborative relationships with patients. She guides each person through their health journey as a partner, not just a provider, helping them understand their bodies and take an active role in their healing.

Advanced Functional Medicine Training

Recognizing the limitations of conventional approaches, Ashley completed specialized coursework through The Institute for Functional Medicine in both hormone and gut health. This advanced training allows her to address complex, interconnected health issues that traditional medicine often treats as separate problems.

Family Life

As a mother of three young boys, Ashley understands the challenges of maintaining family health while managing busy schedules. She and her husband prioritize staying active together and spending time outdoors, bringing personal insight into the real-world application of healthy living principles.
